We use a number of different courses depending on the conditions of the day. The Carrum - Frankston /Carrum - Chelsea are 10-15km paddling time trials starting and finishing at the Patterson River mouth. Conditions may get testing and confused around the river mouth section as tide and wind conditions come into play.
The sheltered Patteson Lakes Canal System and River course may be used if conditions in the bay are deemed to be unsuitable.
Ample car parking is available both in the car park at Patterson Lakes Canoe Club or Patterson River Boat launching facility, Launching Way, Carrum
Off street parking is available at the river mouth car park on the Frankston side. Enter off Nepean Hway via side street next to Cafe Moto.
PFD's must be worn with a signalling device attached (Pealess Whistle).
A Safety Leash attaching you to your craft (calf leash, body leash) is mandatory. An additional paddle leash is optional.
